Who We Are
We are Alpha Space Designlab Ltd., established in 2023 as the exit initiative of a marine debris project promoted through the Japan SDGs Innovation Challenge (J-SIC) in collaboration with the UNDP Acceleration Lab since 2020. Our mission began with solving marine debris issues through remote sensing and space technologies—and continues to evolve as we expand our impact.
What We Do
We leverage Japan’s advanced space capabilities to address global environmental challenges, starting with marine debris. Our work contributes to local market creation, poverty reduction, and sustainable development across maritime nations.
Our Vision
We aim to become the world’s leading company in marine debris solutions, sharing Japan’s expertise globally. With a space-based perspective, we challenge ourselves to build a cleaner, more equitable, and sustainable future—for Earth and beyond.

Space business
We apply space technology to tackle marine debris through remote sensing and environmental monitoring—our core mission. These efforts support sustainable oceans, local economies, and poverty reduction across maritime nations.
As a complementary service, we also offer consulting and technical support for human spaceflight, including project management, systems integration, and astronaut training

Drone business
We conduct aerial photography using drones (general aerial photography, marine debris imaging, ground truth support for satellites) and pesticide spraying operations.

STEM Education Support
We are committed to fostering global interest in space and science through educational outreach. In addition to our core business, we have supported international STEM tours, offering hands-on learning experiences and cultural exchange opportunities for students and educators from around the world.
